Teacher Supply and Demand: Mid-Year Report (November 2022)
Get an insight into how PK-12 schools are trying to improve hiring and retention numbers, and an overview of this hiring season's supply.

Schools have found themselves having to hire teachers in a "candidate-driven market."
We surveyed our PK-12 partner schools across the country to learn more about current and upcoming hiring trends, and the factors most impacting the demand for teachers.
We also took a closer look at the impact of the teacher shortage in the candidate pool of our platform, and trends in current school demand.
Through this report, we found that:
- Increased salaries and higher flexibility are driving the supply of teachers. And the efforts of PK-12 schools to keep teachers in the workforce are simply not enough.
- The candidate pool has significantly increased, but it has still not recovered from the pandemic.
- Although many schools are still struggling to find qualified teachers, retention is strong.
