Selected Expands To Los Angeles!

We are excited to announce that Selected is now serving teachers and Pre-K to 12 schools in Los Angeles!

We are launching in LA with 15 charter school partners that manage 25% of all charter schools in Los Angeles. Our goal is to help teachers find their ideal school fit regardless of school type. We will continue to add more public and independent schools throughout the Greater Los Angeles area as school partners.

When we started Selected over two years ago, one goal was to serve the West Coast and Los Angeles. We love LA for its diversity and vibrant education and social-impact communities. We are excited to allow: i) teachers to match with schools in both LA and Northeast US and ii) school partners to proactively access candidate pools on both Coasts.

Our mission at Selected is to improve teacher retention in the US, particularly in high-need communities, through more purposeful matching. We help teachers find their ideal school fit and help schools match with (and hire) relevant, quality, and diverse teachers quickly.

Early results are promising. First, candidates hired by schools on Selected report a 28% higher fit rating (e.g., school culture, pedagogy) than those hired at schools off the platform. Second, 90% of teachers hired via Selected stay for a second year.
